Provisions After Dark: NEW Dining Concept From Chef Matt Storch

If you live in the Westport area, you will likely be familiar with Chef Matt Storch’s high end market, Saugatuck Provisions, offering customers a curated selection of the very best ingredients from the land, sea and grocery. The store features nose-to-tail butchery, the best seafood around, and cool gourmet seasonings, sauces and take-home sides enabling guests to create beautiful restaurant quality meals at home. But for those of us who don’t like to cook, Storch has something exciting launching Oct 29th. It’s a new way to experience Saugatuck Provisions, and it’s called Provisions After Dark.

“Provisions After Dark” is a tie in between Saugatuck Provisions and Match Burger Lobster (right next door), and Storch says “We want people to be able to eat the high quality product that we offer at Provisions, but NOT have to do any cooking themselves.” For those of us who value the quality of the ingredients we are consuming, but hate to cook, this is the holy grail.

The best part is, it’s fully interactive. Guests get the opportunity to walk into Saugatuck Provisions and choose their own adventure. Cases will be set up with individual portion of cuts of meat and fish, and you can hand pick what looks good to you on any given evening. Diners can choose anything from a dry aged 2 pound porterhouse to a beautiful piece of line caught tuna, or the perfect pork chop. Storch and team will be pairing this with olive oil griddled potatoes and steamed organic veggies.  Another interactive piece is you can to choose a sauce from the nightly selections. 

Guests will also have to option to select one of Saugatuck Provision’s famous rotisserie chickens, halved and served with smashed potatoes on the griddle. The goal is to create meals that are healthy, clean, and wholesome, while using only ethically raised local animals.

This new dining experience will launch on Tuesday, October 29th, and will be available Sunday to Thursday starting at 5PM as an add-on to the existing Match Burger Lobster menu. Provisions will now alter their hours and be open to sell most of their products into the evening.
