NYC's Iconic Asian Bakery, Lady Wong, Now Delivering to CT

 Lady Wong, one of New York City’s hottest bakeries, is now delivering to Connecticut and Westchester. With its innovative desserts rooted in Southeast Asian tradition, the bakery has evolved from a pandemic era delivery service to one of New York City’s hottest bakeries. Founded by the dynamic Greenwich, CT-based husband and wife duo, Mogan Anthony and Seleste Tan– Lady Wong will give Fairfield County and Westchester foodies something they've been missing — a special occasion cake or pastry that’s at the center of their table and conversation.  

At the core of Lady Wong is a deep passion for Southeast Asian pastry combined with exacting French culinary technique. The pastry shop transcends the ordinary with unique flavors like pandan, passion fruit, sour plum, ube, calamansi, and durian, while colorful shades of lilac, mint green, or poppy red evoke the iconic style of their East Village shop. A popular offering: the Black Sesame Passion Fruit Entremet, hides a bright, fruity center beneath a dark, crackly, nutty dome. It was included as The New York Times' "One of the Top 25 Restaurant Dishes We Couldn't Stop Thinking About'' in 2022. 

Anthony and Tan, whose combined experience includes work at five-star hotels, resorts, and Michelin-starred restaurants, such as Jean Georges and Wylie Dufresne's WD-50, found an unexpected opportunity when the pandemic led to the temporary closure of their workplaces. This pause reignited their nostalgia for the cherished desserts of their Malaysian childhood, and they began crafting traditional Southeast Asian-inspired pastries. The couple's creations quickly garnered a devoted following among friends. Spurred by this growing enthusiasm, Anthony and Tan's vision grew into the opening of their brick and mortar in New York City in 2022. In just one year, Lady Wong rose to dessert royalty with countless accolades. Eater highlighted the bakery as a defining force in modern pastry making, naming Lady Wong "the hottest bakeries in NYC right now.” 

This milestone of delivering to Westchester and Connecticut, was a natural progression in the bakery’s expansion. Anthony is intimately familiar with the Connecticut and Westchester dining scenes from his nearly 12 years as culinary director of Village Social Restaurant Group.  He shared, "We're thrilled to introduce these refreshing and exotic flavors of our childhood in an innovative way to our new clients in Fairfield County and Westchester."
